It pairs perfectly with the well-seasoned, perfectly cooked wings, making them a top pick for many visitors. As Nate Bucholz notes, it’s the kind of neighborhood bar that keeps you coming back, where the fair prices and quality offerings leave a lasting impression. From the comfortable ambiance to the delightful dishes, it’s easy to see why locals are smitten. So, make sure to swing by, and don't forget to try that delicious ranch—it might just make its way into your food diary as a favorite!
“ Great fish and chips basket, low key bar. Very chill. Nice place to catch up with friends. ”
“ Little dive bar with great food. We ordered at the bar. When our food was ready it was brought to us, just fyi, this isn’t the place where a server will be coming back to check on you. Not a problem for us, we had everything we needed. We got the bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and the Juliette sandwich(hot) both of which were phenomenal. ”
“ Fair prices, good food, good atmosphere. This is the neighborhood bar I wish I had in my neighborhood. I came once and then I came back again and again. ”
“ If you're looking for a laid-back spot to unwind, this hidden gem is the place to be. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxing, perfect for decompressing after a long day. But let's talk about the food—the ranch dressing here is out of this world. It's so good, it's practically legendary. The wings were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned. My brother tried the burger, and he couldn't stop raving about it—definitely a 5/5 in his book. This place might be a bit off the beaten path, but discovering it on my trip was a highlight. If you're in the area, you have to check it out. BUT seriously the ranch dude... they should make it there daily soup ”
“ Good burgers, and one of the few places left in this town that doesn't make their fries with that stank-ass truffle oil. You WILL not find cheaper in downtown Portland. ”
“ You know what, this is a damn fine burger! Great local waterhole, nice staff, lots of seating, lighthearted atmosphere, what more could you want? We strolled in kind of late and the kitchen was just switching over to their limited late night menu, but they kindly squeaked in two burgers for us. And what a surprise when it turned out to be a perfect little burger! The bun, perfectly toasted. Shredded lettuce (which is how it should be!), a big fat tomato and some messy burger sauce. Devoured the whole thing! Plus, I'm picky with my fries, more of a thin sliced, matchstick fry, type of girl. But these thick fries were delicious, perfectly fried and crispy. I'll be back soon just for the burger! ”
“ Nob Hill, or Nobby’s, is an incredible and local bar and grill. The food is more than the basic greasy bar food, the drinks and strong, and the service is more than to be expected for a small ‘bar and grill’. They are attentive when they have the ability to do so and have great prices. Would recommend any day of the week! ”
“ Came here on 1/10 with some coworkers to try an awesome special which changes each night. Tonight was a fried chicken sandwich, with lettuce, cheese, mayo tomato and your choice of potato salad, fries, tator tots or soup. They have a lot of choices of chili, sandwiches and side items for a variety of people. I had a delicious sandwich full of flavor and moisture with a solid crunch. The potato salad was absolutely delicious with the paprika. I also tried some of the fries as a side dish and it was absolutely crispy and salted nicely. Paired with their house mustard. The atmosphere is very mellow and chill. 80s music blasts in the background and provides a whole vinlbe which makes you want to relax and chill. The wait staff was super friendly and quick to serve you as well. I would highly suggest trying this place and giving the food a glance. I personally do not drink alcohol, but I absolutely will hunt for great food spots. ”
